I’m obviously talking about the still untitled young Han Solo movie, and above you can see a picture from the first day on set. Han Solo: A Star Wars Story? Yeah, I hope it’s more than that.
In the picture you can see Woody Harrelson (who will play a sort of mentor to Han), co-director Chris Miller, Phoebe Waller-Bridge (a CGI droid), Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo), Emilia Clarke (possibly some sort of love interest), Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo, who played the part in most of The Force Awakens), co-director Phil Lord and Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian). Confirmed to be in the film but missing from the picture is Thandie Newton, also in an unspecified role. Principal Photography on the untitled Han Solo movie began on February 20th at Pinewood Studios, London. The screenplay for the new Star Wars story was penned by Lawrence Kasdan (The Empire Strikes Back, The Force Awakens) and Jon Kasdan.
Even more, Disney finally gave the movie an official release date, May 25th 2018, which means we’re getting two Star Wars features over the course of just six months. Also means we’ll definitely get a Han Solo trailer with Star Wars: The Last Jedi in December. It’s a good time to be a Star Wars fan.
