According to Amazon Germany The Dark Knight Rises DVD release date has been set for November 30th, 2012. In the past the German site has often been first when announcing home media dates (such as with The Hunger Games), and they are currently accepting pre-orders, so one can assume the date is solid, although it could change.
This means we can probably expect The Dark Knight Rises DVD release date to be similar in other countries such as the US and UK. The Dark Knight opened late July in 2008 and hit DVD and Blu-ray in early December, so a late November/early December release is likely for The Dark Knight Rises. December 7th has been speculated for a while, but nothing has been confirmed by Warner Bros.
Christopher Nolan isn’t known for putting many deleted scenes and extras on his DVD/Blu-rays, but with this being his last Batman film he may give fans a few extra features. There was speculation that Bane’s origins were removed from the theatrical release, and some scenes featuring Marion Cotillard’s character were apparently cut also. Whether we see them is up to Nolan.
The Dark Knight Rises has taken $840 million at the worldwide box office since opening on July 20th, and many expect it to cross the $1 billion mark in the near future.
Eight years after The Dark Knight, the terrorist leader Bane arrives in Gotham City, pushing it and its police force to the limits, and forcing Batman to resurface after taking the fall for Harvey Dent. Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman will star alongside Anne Hathaway (Catwoman), Tom Hardy (Bane), Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
