Summit Entertainment Hire Writer For Twilight Sequels

by Liam on November 14, 2008 · Comments

It looks like Summit Entertainment are betting on Twilight making tonnes of money when it is released next month, as they have acquired rights to the next three novels in Stephenie Meyer’s vampire series, and have also hired Twilight writer Melissa Rosenberg to write the scripts, based on the books “New Moon” and “Eclipse”. It is interesting to note that the fourth book “Breaking Dawn” has not attached a writer. This is most likely because Summit want to see how things go with the trilogy before setting off on a fourth adventure.

In other news, the soundtrack to Twilight became #1 on the Billboard 200 this week, becoming the third No. 1 soundtrack this year after Juno and Mamma Mia! It also knocked AC/DC off in the process. [You can get your copy by clicking here]

Unlike the book, the movie did a poor job in convincing the audiance as to why Bella and Edward were so in love with each other. There was a large portion of the movie where we, the audience, watched but were not able to listen to the main characters talk to each other. Key pieces of the novel could have had the viewers love struck but instead we were left with a emptiness. Although the screenwriters stuck fairly close to the plot the main point, forbidden love, was skimmed over. I truly hope in New Moon, Melissa Rosenburg and Summit Entertainment give us what we were craving for with Twilght, an incredible LOVE story.

I believe that the movie was fantastic! It is a must see movie anywhere. Even though the script was very different from the book, Bella was so pretty and edward was so protectiveeee

I agree that the movie is a must see. I loved it. But then I read the books and I see that yes it was a little off, but that doesn't mean I didn't like both the book and the movie. I hope though they give us more in New Moon. If Lord of the Rings can take up 3 hours of our lives than so can New Moon.
  • Hey, I'm an author, tell me where do I sign up to write the script for Breaking Dawn?
