Snow White and The Huntsman sequel moving forward

Despite middling reviews by critics and only modest box office returns so far, Deadline reports that Universal is “making all the moves that indicate another chapter is in the offing” for Snow White & The Huntsman. More after the jump.

Screenwriter David Koepp (Jurassic Park, Spider-Man, the upcoming Premium Rush) has been brought on to write, and without the competing Mirror, Mirror to battle through production with, Universal should have a lot more time to craft a script and improve on the flaws of the first one. They’re in talks with director Rupert Sanders to come back after his directorial debut, and since his deal the first time involved a lower rate for a first-time director, it’s expected that he’ll make more now that he’s “in demand” post-SWATH. (I think “in demand” may be blowing it a bit out of proportion, but whatever.)

Stars Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth are signed on for two sequels, but it’s doubtful Charlize Theron will be back after the events of the first movie. Who knows, though – she does have evil powers, so we’ll see what happens if this movie actually ends up making it through the development stages.

Awesome! Like the movie. It did have its bad places but I really liked the characters of Snow and Huntsman and I would like to know what happens to them next.

Sequel – yes. But, if they make it a love triangle story – then, hell no!
And Charlize HAS TO come back. She owned the movie.

I tell you what, Snow white pinches her thumb on a needle and falls asleep for a thousand years, then come along a prince. There is no more story to tell!

Only if you have no imagination. Obviously from there on it would be a completely new story line!

  • R3last

No, does everything with Kristen Stewart have to be a pained and awkward love triangle?

It was a great movie! In my opinion, Kristin was perfect for the role of Snow White! Charlize was absolutely stunning as the evil queen but her accent wasn’t good and it really surprised me.
Loved the movie! Kristin was a perfect as Snow White! Charlize, on the other hand, although stunning as the evil queen, she did not pull of the accent. It sounded horrible!

This is great news! I am so happy she has signed on, she is an amazing actress. Those who says otherwise have no idea what true talent is. I have seen all of her movies and I loved them, she is very unique, not fake, doesn’t care what others think. Such as bad ass real life Snow White.
