On December 7th Paramount will release Shrek Forever After, the final movie in the Shrek franchise, on DVD and Blu-ray. The special features will include a “12 Days of Christmas” pop-up book, deleted scenes, interactive games, a preview of “Shrek the Musical” and an insider’s look at the film.
Paramount could easily make a Shrek 5 as Shrek Forever After made $730 million worldwide, but the franchise will eventually suffer audience fatigue and the movies will only get worse, so it’s best they quit while they are ahead.
DreamWorks are making a Puss in Boots spin-off as we speak so the franchise will probably that way. The film is being directed by Shrek the Third director Chris Miller and Antonio Banderas will return to voice Puss. Salma Hayek will play Kitty and Zach Galifianakis voices Humpty Dumpty.
