We’re in full swing, making the last turn of the race to the home stretch here folks! We’ve seen 3 trailers, 6 TV spots, a ton of posters and all sorts of toys and goodies to keep us satisfied so far.
And now, after getting the track listing and release date details earlier this week, music samples from the The Dark Knight Rises‘ score–crafted by the wonderful Hans Zimmer and guided by Christopher Nolan himself,–have finally been released!
Give it a listen, and feel the fire rise!
‘Gotham’s Reckoning’ might be my pick, but I didn’t listen to them all as I don’t want to ruin the first time in the theater for myself. Zimmer really worked himself to the bone with this one. With him and Nolan gaining such momentum together as a creative team, James Newton Howard opted not to return as he didn’t want to feel like a “third wheel.”
The Chant was an idea spawned between Nolan and Zimmer. The idea of getting thousands of people to contribute to it was an exciting notion for both of them as filmmakers. They crowd sourced a way to record the chant by tweeting the idea and guiding people to the site for a recording. No telling how many people contributed, but wouldn’t you want to be in the biggest movie of the year?! (Avengers who?)
The Dark Knight Rises opens July 19th at midnight!
