The fall movie season has arrived, which means that Christmas themed films are coming our way. Getting a jump on the competition by releasing on VOD in early September, before a limited theatrical release in October, is the Yuletide comedy All is Bright.
Paul Giamatti and Paul Rudd co-star in the buddy-comedy about two French Canadian Christmas tree salesmen who travel to New York to sell trees. The film has gone through a few name changes before settling on All is Bright, as it was previously known as Lucky Dog and Almost Christmas. The film has played at various festivals this year, including Sundance where it received mixed reviews.
Sally Hawkins co-stars in the Phil Morrison (Junebug) directed film.
Here’s the trailer:
Two French Canadian ne’er-do-wells travel to New York City with a scheme to get rich quick selling Christmas trees. Easygoing charmer Rene (Rudd) clashes with misanthropic ex-con Dennis (Giamatti), whose wife Rene just stole. Still, this odd couple must make an honest go of it in this fresh buddy comedy.
All is Bright will be released on VOD on September 10th and theatrically on October 4th.
