USA Today has the first three official images from the currently filming Fast and Furious movie!
The movie is a sign of the strength of “quiet giants,” franchises that “might not be James Bond or Indiana Jones but still have a rabid following, especially overseas or on DVD,” says Paul Dergarabedian of Media by Numbers.
Even Justin Lin, who directed 2006’s Tokyo Drift, has been surprised by the franchise’s reach.
“I was in Barcelona, and a kid from Spain comes up and just says ‘Fast and Furious,’ ” Lin says. “It’s amazing how many kids know it.”
Indeed, the series has made $600 million worldwide and is one of Universal Studios’ best-selling DVD titles.
“We were doing a movie about illegal racing before most people even knew how popular it was,” Diesel says. “How many franchises are that based on the real world?”
But it’s not all current events, Walker says. “Who doesn’t like fast cars and hot women?”
These images of Gerard Butler looking badass in Game have been floating around the internet for a a couple of days now, however I’ve waited until the images popped up in better quality, because that’s how I roll.
Butler has become a little bit famous after a small movie named 300 was released in 2007. However, since then he has appeared in romantic comedy P.S. I Love You (vomits) and family film Nim’s Island (trips over own vomit and falls out of nearby window). Thankfully, Bulter is returning to what he does best…kicking ass! (celebrates furiously)
In the not too distant future, Kabel (Gerard Butler), a death row inmate, has unwittingly become a pop culture hero. Every week, millions worldwide tune in online to watch him and hundreds of other convicts battle in Slayers, an ultra-violent multi-player online game invented by technological genius Ken Castle (Michael C. Hall). To the wealthy young gamer who controls his every move, Kable is just a sim character. To the resistance group that opposes Castle’s games as high-tech slavery, he is a critical element in their battle to take down the inventor. Caught in the crosshairs of two opposing forces and under the command of a teenager’s remote device, Kable must use his extraordinary fighting skills to escape the game, bring down Castle and overthrow the system.
A second trailer for the Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon has appeared online over at Marvel. The short trailer is everything we expect from the X-Men, lots of powers, fighting and Sentinels. If there are any X-fans out there still licking their wounds after X-Men 3, then this should get them all excited.
Marvel also say:
Although, we are still months away from its Nicktoons television début, you can be the first to see the THREE-PART PILOT of Wolverine and the X-Men at the SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON.
A poster for Rob Zombie’s Tyrannosaurus Rex has appeared online. This is the first time Zombie has come forward with anything that gives a glimpse of what to expect, and we still haven’t a clue what its about. However, I suspect it isn’t about a dinosaur cloud…but who knows?
We’ve heard from Ian McKellan about wanting to be in the new Hobbit movies, now Viggo Mortensen has thrown his hat into the ring - the ONE ring, that is! - as well:
Mortensen also said he would like to replay the “Lord of the Rings” part of Aragorn in future “Hobbit” movies that have been announced by “Rings” director Peter Jackson. “I’d rather not have another actor play the part I started out playing for Peter Jackson. And I had a lot of friends from that experience,” he said.
It would be so amazing if they could get as much of the original cast back for the prequels! Viggo was amazing, as were the rest, and I can’t quite picture anyone else playing the roles.
Don’t screw this up, or you’re bound to piss a lot of people off!
Just Jared have got some snaps of the beautiful Kate Winslet looking old and wrinkly on the set of The Reader in Germany. The film follows a man (Ralph Fiennes) who has been sexually obsessed with an older woman (Winslet) for years. However, it turns out she is prosecuted for Nazi war crimes when it is revealed that she was a guard at Auschwitz!
So not only is Kate Winslet playing an old women, she is playing a bitch of an old women who makes younger men sexually attracted to her and was a part time Nazi. I demand they give Kate the Oscar now! She’s been nominated 5 times and its about time she won one. Heavy make-up helped Charlize Theron, sex helped Halle Berry and war helps about everything when it comes to Oscars. This role is all three rolled into one!

IESB have got themselves some new images from The Dark Knight. Some I feel I have seen before, however some are new and show Batman beating the living sh*t out of the Joker.
We only have 25 days until we get to see these images, but in motion. However, if you can’t wait that long then head over to IESB for more Dark Knight goodness.
