Our friends at RopeofSilicon have the newest teaser trailer for Tony Jaa’s third entry in his muay thai martial arts trilogy, Ong Bak 3. Check out the teaser after the jump.
I’ve been a fan of this series since the first film. Although I thought Jaa’s work in The Protector was more impressive than the original Ong Bak: The Thai Warrior, Ong Bak 2 was the best action movie I’ve ever seen. It’s a film that doesn’t concentrate too heavily on plot, but provides some of the most bone-crunching martial arts action ever committed to celluloid. Couple that with ludicrous fight sequences (like fights on the backs of live elephants) and no reliance on wire work or CGI, and Ong Bak 2 easily earns its place among my favorite action films of all time.
Given my thoughts on the second installment, it stands to reason that I’m excited for Ong Bak 3, a sequel that picks up immediately after the events of Ong Bak 2. Has anyone else out there seen these films? If so, are you as hyped as I am to see Jaa’s return to the big screen?
