Noah Ringer, who will be seen later this year as Aang in The Last Airbender, has joined Jon Favreau’s Cowboys and Aliens according to Variety. No other details were given on who or what Ringer will be playing (I suppose he could be an alien) although filming will take place in June so we’ll probably find out his role soon.
Ringer will be joining Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde in the film which explored what would happen if the traditional Old West enemies – cowboys and Native Americans – found the prairie attacked by aliens in mid-1800s Arizona. Craig will be playing a gunslinger who is joined by a woman named Ella (Wilde), and together they attempt to take on the alien invasion.
If The Last Airbender is a hit later this year then Noah Ringer will remain busy over the next few years as M. Night Shyamalan already has a trilogy planned. In between those films Ringer will probably want to play other roles to avoid typecasting, and its always healthy for young actors to expand their acting range in other parts.
