There’s a new trailer for the upcoming racing movie based on the famous game series, Need for Speed. Unlike the first preview, which I found sort of laughable (not in a good way), this one gives me a bit more faith in the project.
Illegal street racer Tobey (played by Breaking Bad‘s Aaron Paul), as it so often happens in his line of work, ends up being framed for a murder he did not commit. Dude goes to jail, dude gets out of jail and now he wants revenge on the guy that framed him. His plan involves some more illegal street racing and even jumping off a cliff while being held by a helicopter which was attached to the car at the last second. I know this all sounds stupid but come on, have you seen the last Fast and Furious movies? This is sort of that, with Aaron Paul, it’s racing, bitch. Unless it ends up with like a 9% on Rotten Tomatoes, I’m probably in at this point.
Need for Speed was directed by Scott Waugh (Act of Valor, which was rather good) and stars Aaron Paul (which most of you should know if you’re into following the meth trade), Dakota Johnson (pretty girl that’s probably his ex), Michael Keaton (who is in everything next year), Imogen Poots (probably the sister/new love interest) and Dominic Cooper (the bad guy, obviously) among others.
Need for Speed is out March 14 2014 in North America and the UK.
