Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street has been scheduled for release on 15th November 2013; it is the director’s latest collaboration with Leonardo DiCaprio who was just seen in Django Unchained and stars in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby this May. Scorsese and DiCaprio have previously worked together on The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island and Gangs of New York.
Here’s what Deadline had to say:
Paramount has just set the Leonardo DiCaprio-starrer The Wolf Of Wall Street directed by Martin Scorsese for wide release November 15, 2013. The film about the real-life rise and fall of Wall Street hotshot Jordan Belfort also stars Matthew McConaughey, Jonah Hill, Jean Dujardin, Rob Reiner, Kyle Chandler, Margot Robbie and Jon Bernthal. Terry Winter wrote the script. Red Granite Pictures financed and produced.
The film will face stiff competition that weekend from four other wide releases, which could damage its opening three-day gross potential, and therefore the film may rely on strong word of mouth to carry it through the Christmas holiday season.
Also opening on the 15th November is The Best Man Holiday (starring Terrence Howard), The Counselor (starring Michael Fassbender, Javier Bardem and Brad Pitt), The Fifth Estate (starring Benedict Cumberbatch) and Grudge Match (starring Sylvester Stallone, Robert DeNiro and Alan Arkin).
