As far as rumors go this is way up there, so take it as that and nothing more, for now. This piece of information that’s absolutely blowing my mind comes from The Death of Superman Lives director John Schnepp and you can read a lot more about it below.
Apparently while talking about the DC movies on a show, the director of documentary The Death of Super Man Lives, John Schnepp, had this to say:
“Obviously Zack Snyder is doing Justice League 1 and 2, we already got James Wan doing Aquaman – Waterman I think they should change the title– but yeah I think George Miller is a perfect choice to do Man of Steel 2, he’s going to bring so much to it.”
What? Ok, maybe you want to see it in video form? The part you want starts around 55:20.
So why should you believe this guy you probably never heard of? Well he did a documentary about the late 90’s Nicholas Cage and Tim Burton Superman flick that never got off the ground, so you’d think he probably knows some people that might be working on these movies for Warner.
Another thing, Warner have had a long-standing relationship with director/writer George Miller from Mad Max 2 and 3 back in the 80’s, The Witches of Eastwick, both Happy Feet movies and this year’s Mad Max: Fury Road. Also at one point George Miller was working on a Justice League film for Warner, so you know he would probably take Man of Steel 2 if it was offered to him.
Again it’s just a rumor but man, it makes so much sense and it would be incredible if he actually got to make a Man of Steel sequel. For now Warner don’t even have a Man of Steel 2 on their schedule. The thing they had at one point turned into Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and that was that. If this ends up being true I’m going to be very happy.
