Lily Collins on being cast as Snow White

The Blind Side actress Lily Collins was at WonderCon today to promote Priest, a post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller starring Paul Bettany as a priest who lives in obscurity until his niece (Collins) is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires.

Following recent news that the actress has been cast in Relativity’s Snow White movie people naturally asked her about the project, and what we can expect.

From The Daily Blam:

“I can tell you that I read for it two days ago at three o’clock, met [the director] Tarsem that night and was cast yesterday. So.. I’ve read the script but it just happened so it’s all new to me. It’s a dream role, it’s my favorite fairy tale growing up and I’m still shocked. I’m excited to meet the rest of the cast, because I haven’t met anyone yet. It starts in June and I’m really excited for it.

Things sure happen fast, but with rival Snow White movies in production it helps if you’re the first out the blocks.

Tarsem Singh’s yet-to-be-titled Snow White movie begins with the evil stepmother (Julia Roberts) killing Snow White’s father and destroying the kingdom. Snow White then bands together with a gang of seven quarrelsome dwarves to reclaim what is rightfully hers. The Social Network‘s Armie Hammer will also star as Prince Andrew Alcott.
