According to Variety Oscar winning actor Jamie Foxx is in talks to play the villain Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
There were hints to his inclusion during the post-credit scene in The Amazing Spider-Man which featured Dr. Curt Connors at an asylum. Electro, also known as Max Dillon, is an enemy of Spider-Man who gains the ability to control electricity after being struck by lightning.
Foxx is an interesting choice, mainly because nobody had him on their list for Electro. The actor will be joining Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone in the sequel, with The Descendants actress Shailene Woodley in talks to play Mary Jane Watson.
Foxx teased (and seemed to confirm) his new role on Twitter.

The actor will next be seen in Django Unchained, and stars opposite Channing Tatum in White House Down which is set to be released next summer.
