Ghost Rider 2 revving up

GhostRiderDespite not that many people seeing the first movie, Columbia Pictures are currently looking for screenwriters to get started on Ghost Rider 2

From Bloody-Disgusting:

What we learned this evening is that Columbia Pictures is officially out to writers to pen the sequel and that Nicolas Cage is in fact attached and signed on to return.

It is unlikely that Eva Mendes will return. I don’t know whether that’s obvious or not because I didn’t see the first one, so she could have been killed off for all I know. Anyone interested in seeing a Ghost Rider 2?

  • Yeah, it'd be interesting.. It was never supposed to be a groundbreaking comic movie, just a bit of fun and it ticked that box
  • Ghost Rider was a fun movie. Not a great one, but a fun one. It suffered mainly from Nic Cage's poor performance and the fact that it was an origin story. It took too long to set the Rider up. Not nearly enough action! This movie could be really good if they take the time to write a good story and include plenty of action for the Rider.

I'm hoping to see the Ghosts of Highway 13 as an opening/secondary type villain, and Centurious and/or Zarathos as the main villain with Mephisto pulling strings from behind the scenes. That would set up for a nice third entry in the series.
  • @jon
I totally agree. It would make a nice triology, and give a bit of redmeption
