The last time we saw Michael Fassbender he was declaring war on humans as Magneto in X-Men: First Class, however in his next film, Shame, he can’t get enough of them (sexy female ones, anyway).
Shame reunites Fassbender with British director Steve McQueen, who directed the actor in Hunger, and tells the story of Brandon (Fassbender), a single man who is addicted to sex in any form as long as it does not involve love or intimacy. His ordered lifestyle is thrown into chaos with the arrival of his needy sister (Carey Mulligan).

The film premiered at The 68th Venice Film Festival last month and Fassbender won a Volpi Cup for best actor, which could indicate that he has a good shot at some nominations during the upcoming awards season. Fox Searchlight (Slumdog Millionaire) picking Shame up for US distribution will certainly help.
Shame will be released December 2 in the US, and January 13, 2012 in the UK.
