First look at Blackbeard on the set of Pirates of the Caribbean 4

Pop Sugar managed to get our first look at Ian McShane as Blackbeard on the set of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. In the image above we see Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz filming a scene with McShane, all in costume.

Since Cruz joined the cast in February we have learned that she will be playing the daughter of Blackbeard. Here’s the official synopsis with further details:

In this action-packed tale of truth, betrayal, youth and demise, Captain Jack Sparrow crosses paths with a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz), and he’s not sure if it’s love–or if she’s a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past.

The production has now moved from Hawaii to California and there will also be some filming in London.

I think Disney we may release the first trailer with either Tangled at the end of November or with Tron Legacy in December.
