Disney has released a third and final trailer for The Lone Ranger, a movie that reunites Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski with producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Johnny Depp. The film had a rocky start with delays and budget cuts, however the trailers so far have been good enough to warrant interest.
As a western The Lone Ranger is already at a disadvantage, but Django Unchained proved popular overseas as well as in the US, so maybe Depp’s appeal will help continue the success of the genre this summer.
Watch the trailer below:
Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.
Armie Hammer, Ruth Wilson, Tom Wilkinson, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale and William Fichtner also star, and Disney has set The Lone Ranger release date for July 3, 2013.
