Apparently the following video is some sort of teaser for Deadpool 2, which is not coming for quite a while. Also don’t expect any footage from that film in this, just a short funny thing to tide you over.
So what we got instead was a little comedy bit with a phone booth, John William’s iconic Superman theme (impressive that they manged to get it for this), Wade Wilson’s ass, Stan Lee and a dead guy that was almost saved by Deadpool, almost. Fox showed this teaser in front of Logan in the US (not internationally sadly) and while the video was directed by Deadpool 2 helmer David Leitch, it’s not actually from that movie. That’s mainly because principal photography has yet to start on the sequel. So when will cameras finally start rolling? The latest window seems to be June 19th (start date) to September 18th (end date), which means we could see Deadpool 2 in theaters as early as summer 2018.
What can I say, teaser wasn’t lying, Deadpool is not coming soon enough. So what else do we know about the sequel? Besides of course Ryan Reynolds returning as Wade Wilson, we’ll also once again see Colossus, Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Dopinder. And then there’s Cable, who is still without an actor (Stranger Things’ David Harbour is the latest rumored to close in on the part). Currently working on the film’s script are Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Drew Goddard and Ryan Reynolds. That’s that, for now.
