Latino Review have claimed that Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight Rises, Inception) is in negotiations to take over complete control of Warner Bros.’ DC comic book movie franchise. It is believed that the deal would pave the way for Christian Bale to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman in the proposed Justice League movie.
It is said that Christopher Nolan will produce the Justice League movie along with Zack Snyder, with the latter poised to direct after impressing on the forthcoming Man of Steel.
This is easily the best possible outcome for DC and Warner Bros. whose long awaited Justice League movie has so far struggled to gain any traction whatsoever. Christopher Nolan’s involvement would immediately re-ignite interest in the superhero franchise and his ability to persuade Christian Bale to return as the Dark Knight would undoubtedly ease the pressure on Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel.
It is vital that DC/Warner Bros. succeed with their Justice League franchise after Marvel/Disney have enjoyed unprecedented success with their multi-billion dollar Avengers series. However, the former has been resigned to play catch-up with the latter due to their inability to establish a long-term plan, which has so far proved to be a very costly mistake.
A Justice League movie is scheduled for release in 2015, so expect more news on these developments in the coming weeks (if they’re true).
Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel is due for release in the US and UK on 14th June 2013. The film stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Russell Crowe, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon and Kevin Costner.
