According to Variety Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks will be joining Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan in Drive.
Nicolas Winding Refn (Bronson) is directing the film which is an adaptation of the James Sallis novel about a nameless Hollywood stuntman (Gosling) who moonlights as a freelance getaway driver during robberies. When a bank heist goes wrong, he ends up on the run with a contract on his head and an ex-con’s girlfriend (Mulligan) in his car. Hendricks’ role has not been revealed.
Hugh Jackman was attached to star at one point with The Decent director Neil Marshall set to direct, however that incarnation never came into function and we now have Ryan Gosling as the lead.
Drive will begin filming in Los Angeles later this month, and is expected to be released sometime next year. No studio is currently involved so it will be looking to seek distribution once it has some footage to show.
