“Brotherhood re-assembles” for X-Men: Days of Future Past, set pic of Patrick Stewart released

patrickstewartxmenset Filming on X-Men: Day of Future Past is now officially under-way in Montreal, which means we can expect more teasers and images from director Bryan Singer and the cast on Twitter. To announce the start of filming Singer tweeted a set picture featuring Patrick Stewart as Xavier, and we get to see the telepath’s new futuristic costume. It’ll be a change to see the character wearing something other than a suit.

Ian McKellen, reprising his role of Magneto in the film, has also been teasing his role on Twitter:

The Days of Future Past comic storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps.

James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Halle Berry, Peter Dinklage, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Omar Sy, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, and Boo Boo Stewart are all confirmed to star, and X-Men: Days Of Future Past will be released July 2014.

    present day? Isn’t it set like 10 years after first class, like mid 70’s?

      Yes. In the comics, it took place in the “present day” of the time (the 80s). But in this version, the “future” most likely be the present. They’ve said the majority of film will take place in 70s and James McAvoy has been talking about young Xavier’s 70s outfits
