ShowBiz 411 has confirmed that British singer Adele will be recording the theme song for the 23rd Bond movie Skyfall, something many have been hoping for and assuming for a while.
Adele has had one hell of a year. Her album 21 earned her six Grammy Awards and sold 22 million copies around the world. The album spent more than 79 weeks in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 in the US (that’s more than one whole year) and in the UK Adele’s album overtook Michael Jackson’s Thriller to become the 5th best-selling album of all time.
If they had given the Bond theme to someone else, it wouldn’t have felt right. The song itself is called ‘Skyfall’, and we’ll probably get our first listen of the song towards the end of next month.
Skyfall opens October 26 in the UK, and November 9 in the US.
