While on promotional work for Jack the Giant Slayer (due for release in the UK on 22nd March 2013), the film’s director, Bryan Singer, spoke to Digital Spy about his other project, the hugely anticipated sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past.
During the interview, Singer confirmed that Days of Future Past will be shot in 3D and the narrative will explore the relationship between Xavier and Magneto, focusing on how it develops and changes over the years.
“Because I have both Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender in the picture you’ll deal with both sides of that point of view and it really explores the relationship between Xavier and Magneto and the evolution of that relationship. Where it came from. Where it’s going”

The Days of Future Past comic storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is due to commence filming in April and scheduled for release in July 2014. Halle Berry (X-Men, Swordfish) was recently confirmed for the sequel, which also stars Peter Dinklage, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Omar Sy, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, and Nicholas Hoult.
