X-Men: First Class Movie Coming?

x men first class With all of the recent Wolverine buzz it is easy to forget that there are actually other mutants that belong to the X-Men world. There have been rumours for a while about a possible young X-Men movie working its way onto the big screen, and today SHH noticed something interesting from a listing at Production Weekly.

An interesting listing at Production Weekly caught our eye – “X-Men: First Class.” Could 20th Century Fox be developing a movie based on the series written by Jeff Parker and pencilled by Roger Cruz? Or are they using the title of that comic for their proposed Young X-Men spin-off?

What makes it even more interesting is that X-MenFirstClass.com redirects to FoxMovies.com.

X-Men: First Class was an eight-issue mini-series published from September of 2006 through April of 2007.

For millions of years, mankind’s place on Earth was unchallenged – until five young people paved the way for a new kind of human. While students at the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters, Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Angel, Beast and Iceman taught the world what it meant to be X-Men. These are the hidden stories of the team that laid the foundation of a mutant dynasty!

This sounds quite likely actually. There must be a reason why Fox called the Wolverine spin-off X-Men Origins: Wolverine rather than simply ‘Wolverine’. There is also X-Men Origins: Magneto in the works so why not make a movie about the origin of the actual X-Men while your at it?

However, a problem may arise regarding Iceman and Angel, seeing as though Iceman is a student in the trilogy and Angel doesn’t come across the X-Men until half way through X-Men 3: The Last Stand. If this movie goes ahead they can either forget continuity and go ahead with Iceman and Angel, or drop ice cube and birdman and re-write the origin of the X-Men with different characters such as Storm, Forge and Cannonball.

    Um…why would they consider Cannonball when Cannonball is even younger than Iceman is and didn't appear in the comics until the 80's. If it's X-men First Class, you use the original X-men. Having half of the original X-men plust some other people is BS

    give us x-men first class with sentinels.then give us magneto and wolverine 2 were he will fight omega red, we also need apocalypse,sinister . another couple of good x-men films would be x-men 4, generation -x,bishops district-x,and x-men special class.give some cool characters like chamber,and husk, beak all grown up looking like a hawk, angel salvadore,glob herman,prosimian, orb weaver,barberus,mammomax,squidboy,sauron,and my favorite human villain since stryker john sublime who takes mutants powers for himself leaving them dead, just keep the movies grounded in the real world,make great stories, great cameos,and keep the movies coming,please.

    keep the continuity with the other x-men films when doing first class have gambit join cyclop,iceman or boy,colossus,jean,emma frost and beast, but please give some good cameos like the husk chamber and the others i have mention.

    I hope they never make another X-Men movie ever again and publicly apologize to us fans for ruining what could have been a great movie series.

    The list of things wrong with the X-Men series is gigantic and is a mockery to Marvel itself.

    Ironman and FF 1 and 2 were masterpieces when comparing them with the trash of X-Men.. please never make another movie!

    I mean Chris is right.. it would be cool to see Wolverine fight Omega Red.. but seriously.. they would just utterly ruin it… I mean come on Angel meets the X-Men while Rogue hasnt even met Miss Marvel and yet she is a team member.. the movies make me sick.. its like someone from DC read some X-Men comics at random times and said “lets make a movie!     a pleasant day filmonic and to all x-men ultimate fans. i would like to know if there's a coming x-men 4 movie?and what is it all about?and i hope all mutants reunited,also magneto and scarlet wicth will become mutant again.i love this movie since i was a kid!and i hope this will be all about apocalypse!

    sorry to remind you guys but this is fox that were talking about, the first x-men film could have been better, they picked it up on X2 then crashed the plane on X3…HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU PUT JUGGY IN THE FILM AS A MUTANT AND THEN HAVE IT PLAYED BY A PERSON? Me honestly would have cg'd juggy and edited that trash ending X3 reminded me of that batman with 1 twomany villans (the one with bain being played by a 3foot midget luchador) X-Men First Class will not flop due to the fan base that this guy pulls on his shows. I swear on my dogs left testicle if this film does not exceed expectation im filing a law suite on fox for the truck of no doze that i hade to buy so i could watch this travesty of a film.

WTF oh and lets not forget that they turned spiderman 3 into a who can cry the most fest. screw this im filing that lawsuite.

    Well, I have the liberty to taken a peek at the Wolverine movie. I will say this that there is no Omega Red and Wolverine fight scenes. The major fight scenes was created by the writers, to me they haven't read the origins of wolverine comics like us fans have. But, the movie looks promising. Some majors problems you will most likely see are introducing characters that should have been introduce already in the Xmen movies. So the First Class movie is most like where the end of origin or wolverine left off.

    I was so excited (even though I already knew that it was out of place from the original story) to hear that Angel would be appearing in X3. Then I was very betrayed, and quite frankly, pissed off when I saw the movie and how little Angel actually appeared. Since Marvel has screwed up the whole series anyway. I would say to go ahead and keep Angel and Iceman, but give them bigger and moresignificant roles in the movie to make up for their sins with the first three movies. It seems the moveis just surrounded some kind of demand to see celebrity characters (ie Cyclops, Wolverine, Jean, etc.). The fact is, everyone, even people who dont follow X-Men comics, or even the old cartoons from the 80s and 90s, know those characters just because they were the most talked about. But that does not help bring those people who know knothing about the Marvel Universe, to know the true development of the X-Men. So Marvel, PLEASE, stop making up storylines to fit ONLY the popular characters from the comics/toons tothe bigscreen! Angel, my personal favorite, played a vital roleein the development of the X-Men. Please get it right this time.
