We told you two days ago that additional filming for X-Men Origins: Wolverine was taking place in Vancouver. They started on the 12th and they will be wrapping up in 2 weeks. Reports have come in that Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, Liev Schreiber, Taylor Kitsch and Dominic Monaghan will be involved in the reshoots, with Dominic talking to Popwrap Blog about them:
Asked if it’s a reshoot or an additional scene, Monaghan says “We’re doing a bit of both, more than anything else, it’s an additional scene… my character features in a huge set piece with Hugh and Liev [Schreiber]. I think the best thing I can tell you is that it’s a flashback scene.”
However, as this is the internet this 2 week reshoot has caused mass hysteria. Collider are reporting that ‘extensive’ reshoots are taking place, and AICN call the reshoots ‘massive’. They back up their over-reacting by recalling the false rumours we heard during filming. One involved director Richard Donner apparently ‘ghost directing’ because Gavin Hood couldn’t do it himself. The actual truth being he was there because of his wife, producer Lauren Shuler Donner.
Then there was another bullshit rumour about 20th Century Fox going behind director Gavin Hood’s back and repainting the set. Whoever makes up this crap should work for the same British tabloid that came up with the ‘Eddie Murphy in Batman 3′ story.
If people didn’t get a buzz from making stuff up then we would now be getting less hysterical reports and posts with actual common sense. Alas, this is the internet, where common sense is almost non-existent. Hugh Jackman and friends are probably filming scenes that will improve the film, and they have 3 months to add any special effects if needed.
There will be an X-Men Origins: Wolverine TV spot during the Super Bowl on February 1st, and we will no doubt get more stuff between now and May.
