Venom Spin-Off On The Way

by Liam on July 31, 2008 · Comments

VenomBack in February there was talk of Sony looking at writers for a possible Venom movie, and now we have news that a draft script has been written by Jacob Estes. However, the studio is considering going in a different direction from Estes’ script and is seeking writers for a new draft.

Venom was played by Topher Grace in Spider-Man 3, however apparently he may be replaced, which would be easy considering Venom is a substance rather than a character.

Sony is still hoping to release Spider-Man 4 in 2011, and Sam Raimi confirmed at Comic Con that he is still waiting to read the script. If we get the fourth Spider-Man movie in 2011 that would be 9 years after we got the first Spider-Man movie back in 2002.

Do we really need another installment of the most whiny/crybaby superhero movies ever made?
  • Bingo
That would be a horrible idea! I want Venom to only be seen in Spiderman movies.

K, they kind of killed the Venom spin off after they introduced him. 10 minutes after he turns into venom, he gets killed. I mean, come on! You're supposed to keep Venom alive! He shows up EVERYWHERE in the comics! pssh. lame. This won't work.

ya but since venom was blown up there could of been some of the venom zygote still left instead of being totally demolished how do u think carnage is introduced??? so i think the next venom spin off should be just about venom, carnage, and introducing toxin

I hope that for the love of God they do a better job on this spinoff. They ruined Venom in Spider-Man 3 and it made me extremely upset to see one of my favorite villains turned into the shell of a character that he was in the film and then slaughtered. Venom, carnage, Toxin... the symbiotes are just damn awesome and they need to be done justice instead of being made into wimps.
