According to Badass Digest Trent Reznor, who recently won an Oscar for his music in The Social Network, may have his next project lined up: Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. But not only will Reznor be scoring the film, he may also be appearing in it too.
The site says the Nine Inch Nails front-man will be appearing as the vampire who kills Abe Lincoln’s mother.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter will be directed by Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov and is a 3D re-imagining of Lincoln’s life that depicts the 16th president as an axe-throwing, highly accomplished killer of vampires, an obsession of his since those bloodsuckers supposedly took the life of his mother. Taking revenge, Lincoln wreaks havoc on the vampires and their slave-owning protectors.
Benjamin Walker will play Lincoln, with Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim) playing his wife Mary Todd Lincoln. Dominic Cooper is set to play vampire Henry Sturgess, who pushes Lincoln into his monster-killing trade, and Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker) has been cast as Will, Lincoln’s best friend.
Filming is planned to begin in this month, so we should get confirmation of Reznor’s involvement soon. 20th Century Fox has the release date set for 22 June, 2012.
