Back in 1995 Toy Story managed to take $360 million at the worldwide box office, yet Pixar originally intended Toy Story 2 to go straight to DVD. Luckily common sense prevailed, which Pixar will be happy about, as they are now rolling in $895 million which Toy Story 3 has accumulated since its release. This also means Toy Story 3 has surpassed Finding Nemo’s $867.8 million to become the highest grossing film in Pixar history.
There are still a few more weeks left in Toy Story 3‘s run, so there is a possibility it could join the billion dollar club. If Alice in Wonderland can I’m sure Toy Story won’t have a problem, especially with 3D ticket prices.
