The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

Who wasn’t excited about this movie to begin with? I mean, with the success of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, there was a lot of anticipation gathered behind this new adaptation of such a beloved fantasy series. You couldn’t help but get chills when you saw this on the screen! It gives you exactly what you’ve been waiting for: a trip through the wardrobe and right into Narnia. Add in a number of talking animals, and a smattering of visual effects only Weta Workshop can produce, and you’ve got a mega trailer on your hands here. None of the music in the trailer is available, but the original score by Harry Gregson-Williams is worth a listen.

Well, these are all good, but you've missed a few amazing ones that at least made me go see their respective movies:

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow:

the robots, the retro 50s feel with an alternate reality storyline, this trailer got lots of people anxious, but sadly, none of them went to go see the movie. I did though, it was good, better then the critics gave it anyway.

    V for Vendetta:

That trailer was phenomenal, it gave the basic plot, and promised twists, conspericies, and explosions. I loved the movie, and the trailer.

    Cloverfield:

Probably the one trailer that got the most people to go see the movie. This is in my opinion, a perfect trailer. NYC is under attack from something, and that's all you know. I have yet to see a trailer that was as perfectly suited for a movie that succeded to well.

I saw all three of the movies i listed, but I only saw 5 of the ones you listed, and mostly not because of the trailers.

I am curious though, which movies didn't live up to the trailers in your mind?

Ooh, V for Vendetta… Good one! That was a great movie, and had a great trailer as well!

Unfortunately, both Miss Potter and Elizabeth: The Golden Age didn't live up to the trailers for me. I was so EXCITED about Elizabeth, too, probably because I enjoyed the first one so much, that it probably could never live up to the version I had in mind. Still a good movie, but sometimes I like to watch the trailer and think of what might have been.
