Peter Parker wants to be more than just a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man in the 2nd official trailer for Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.
“Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May, under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark, Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.”
You could say Tony Stark is trying to teach Peter Parker a lesson in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and from what they showed in the trailer it looks like at some point in the movie the web-slinging hero will have to do without his shiny new suit. That’s maybe something they could have saved for the movie, still a very cool trailer that didn’t necessarily make me any more or less excited than I already was for Spider-Man: Homecoming (which is still one of my most anticipated movies of 2017).
Jon Watts directed and co-wrote the screenplay for Spider-Man: Homecoming with Jonathan Goldstein, John Francis Daley, Christopher Ford, Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers (these many names slightly concern me). Starring in the film are Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Donald Glover, Hannibal Buress, Zendaya and many others.
The 16th installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (yes, that’s right, 16 movies in little over 9 years) is set to debut on the big screen starting July 7th in the US and around the world.
