Tina Fey is likely to join The Muppets sequel

the muppets20 Image After hearing that Jason Segal would not be returning for The Muppets sequel, we learned of a few new leading human roles. They include a Russian femme fatal prison guard, and now it seems that role will be filled by one of the funniest women on the planet, Tina Fey.

Fey is in the late stages of contract negotiation, and if she signs on would be joining Ty Bureall and Ricky Gervais. The film will be set in Europe, and it would appear to be a caper film. Burell will play a bumbling Interpol agent and Gervais will play a role described as a “dubious male lead,” who we can assume will be British.

Fey, along with her former SNL Weekend Update co-host Amy Poehler will be hosting the Golden Globes on the 13th. The last two Golden Globes were hosted by Fey’s likely soon to be co-star, Ricky Gervais.

Assuming Fey joins the cast she and the rest of the cast will be off to London when production begins later this month.
