The Wolf of Wall Street finds a wife in Cristin Milioti

With news a few days ago of Jean Dujardin walking on board, we’ve now got word via Variety that Tony nominated actress Cristin Milioti has been cast as Dicaprio’s (Jordan Belfort’s) first wife in the The Wolf of Wall Street.

After her Broadway run is over, she’ll join the rest of the cast and crew which includes Jonah Hill, Kyle Chandler and more and start principle photography at the end of the summer.

Coming off Broadway and onto a film is a great way to start making the transition to Tinseltown. Milioti apparently had gotten an ultimatum from the producers of Once, and learned two key songs in the show her character is required to play in just ten days. The Playlist has a video which shows off her (Napoleon Dynamite voice) super-sweet vocal skills.

She’s had stints before, notably (for me anyways) playing Johnny Sack’s daughter on The Sopranos, and a small gig on 30 Rock. She has been going back and forth between the stage and the set for years now. But when Scorsese calls and says, “Will you be the wife to my lead?” You say, “Yes. Hello Hollywood. Hello world.”

The Wolf of Wall Street stars Leonardo Dicaprio as Jordan Belfort, the hard-partying, money losing leading man. Milito will be playing his “Italian-American Hair Dresser wife, who is crushed by his infidelity.”

The film starts shooting in a few months time.
