The Social Network trailer

Following the debut of the first official poster last week Columbia has released the teaser trailer for The Social Network (aka The Facebook movie).

And it really is a teaser. There is no footage from the film at all, just lines of dialogue spoken by the cast with words such as ‘Genius’ and ‘Traitor’ appearing in the background.

The film is based on the book “Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal” which, along with the tagline “You Don’t Get to 500 Million Friends Without Making A Few Enemies”, suggests the film may be a bit controversial.

The Social Network will be released on October 1st and stars Jesse Eisenberg as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Justin Timberlake as Napster founder Sean Parker (who eventually became a Facebook executive) as well as Andrew Garfield, Rooney Mara, Rashida Jones and Max Minghella.
