The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey DVD release date announced

the-hobbit Warner Bros. Home Entertainment have officially announced The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey DVD release date for March 19th, 2013. As well as the DVD there’ll be a Blu-ray/DVD/UltraViolet and 3D BD/DVD/Ultraviolet Combo Pack.

There doesn’t appear to be any deleted or extended scenes included in the specifications, but they will no doubt be included in the Extended Editions. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is on course to cross $1 billion at the worldwide box office, and there are two more films in the trilogy left to go.

he Hobbit follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen), Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakensheild (Richard Armitage). Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers.
