Here’s some good news for those of you in the States patiently waiting until December to see The Golden Compass. You don’t have to wait much longer!
New Line Cinema announced today that it will present sneak preview showings of the film THIS Saturday, December 1st. the film will show in 800 theaters nationwide.
For those of you not in the know, The Golden Compass takes place in a universe similar to ours, but filled with witches, talking polar bears, and daemons. These daemons are the physical accompaniment of a person’s soul, and follows them through life. The story is focused on Lyra, a 12 year old girl who inherits the golden compass from her father, and sets off on an epic quest to save her world…and ours. It is the first of the His Dark Materials trilogy, written by Philip Pullman.
I can’t wait to see this movie. I loved the books, and I’m excited to see it.
