The Dictator gets an August DVD/Blu-ray release

dictator sacha baron cohen megan fox Image Paramount has announced The Dictator DVD and Blu-ray release date for August 21st, 2012. The Blu-ray/DVD combo includes an unrated version of the film with nearly 20 minutes of footage not seen in the original theatrical version. The set also includes over 30 minutes of deleted and extended scenes.

The Dictator opened in May to mixed reviews, but it has taken $150 million at the worldwide box office, so Paramount will be happy with it.’s performance given the $65m budget. In comparison to previous Sacha Baron Cohen entries it’s ahead of Bruno ($138m), but way behind the $250m+ gross of Borat.
