The official Facebook page for The Avengers has announced that the film will be returning to US screens this weekend.
The re-release will run from August 31 to September 6, and is probably an effort by Disney/Marvel to claim the #2 highest grossing domestic film of all-time. The Avengers is currently $40 million away from Titanic‘s $658 million, and the wide re-release may push it over that total.
