The Amazing Spider-Man teaser trailer

spider man gwen peter Image After a few bootlegs appeared online Columbia have officially released the first teaser trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man in HD.

The trailer starts off more like a drama than a summer blockbuster. We see Peter Parker being left at his Aunt and Uncle’s, then we see him as a teenager at school. It looks like they are re-telling the origins again, as we see him getting bitten by a spider and climbing walls. Nothing indicates it’s a big budget movie until towards the end where we get a ‘point of view’ sequence of Spider-Man swinging through New York.

The Amazing Spider-Man, set for release July 3, 2012, is directed by Marc Webb and stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as the Lizard, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben, Sally Field and Aunt May, and Irrfan Khan as the “Proto-Goblin,” a test subject of Norman Osborn’s experimentations.

        Agreed – biggest problem with the first movie in the Raimi franchise.  It got better as time went on, but as the CGI improved, the story became horrible.

        Can’t stand when animators don’t represent gravity well.

    It looks okay so far. I like it. My only complaint is that they need to clean up that CGI. Looked way too fake. WAY TOO FAKE.

    The Reboot is because they dont want to lose the rights to spiderman, they wer going to lose the rights if they didnt make another spiderman movie, so SM-4 they didnt want to do, but didnt want to lose the rights either..so…Reboot :(…..but looks darker, more Adult-ish…well see..

    It is very good to continue the story, :). I can’t see the trailer, it’s not available in my country, so I’m not commenting on the trailer, but of what I think myself.

    Another freaking origin story?!? Who DOESN’T know how he became Spiderman?? I don’t care about a new actor or whatever, but MOVE ON!! Who wants to see another retelling of the same story just changed some?? Spiderman is well known already! Tell your new story and quit rehashing the same thing!!!

    Finally they got rid of Tobey Maguire!! He really was a bad choice to play the role of Spiderman. He always looked like he was about to cry.

    Everyone complaining about it being the same origin story, it is the same, but it is also very different. This one has Gwen Stacy as his first love interest, as it was in the comic books originally, and it adds more to it, with the stuff about his parents, although idk how deep into that they’ll go. Plus it isn’t just his origin story, he will have an actual villain to fight in the form of the Lizard, a villain he has yet to encounter on the big screen.

    I think it looks a lot better than the one with Tobey McGuire. I didn’t think he was a very convincing Spider Man. Tobey was kind of goober-ish. Andrew Garfield looks more the part in my opinion. I’m really really stoked about this movie :D
