Yahoo has debuted the first teaser trailer for Disney’s Tangled, which is set to be released on November 24th. After The Princess and the Frog performed less than expected Disney changed the title from Rapunzel to Tangled in the hope of luring young boys who they suspected weren’t interested in Princess and the Frog.
Mandy Moore (License to Wed) and Zachary Levi (Chuck) have provided their voices for the film, which has Byron Howard (Bolt) in the director’s chair.
As you can tell from the trailer Disney has emphasized the film’s prominent male character. It’ll be interesting to see whether Flynn Rider is featured as much as the trailer suggests in the final film, or whether it’s just a marketing trick to get young males to see a movie about a girl’s hair.
Here’s the synopsis:
When the rogue Flynn Rider (Zachary Levi) chooses an isolated tower for his latest hideout, he has no idea the tower is already occupied by a princess who was kidnapped as an infant. Rapunzel (Mandy Moore), who can use her magical hair to heal, sees the devil-may-care bandit as her escape from the tower and a chance at a life of adventure – one that may reunite her with her long-lost parents and restore her royal heritage.
