A Romulan, Nero (Eric Bana), and a much older Spock (Leonard Nimoy) are influences, as well as Captain Pike (Bruce Greenwood), the first captain of the USS Enterprise.

Paramount have put together a widget to celebrate the upcoming DVD release of Iron Man on September 30th. The widget can be placed on your Myspace/Facebook/website and features the game ‘Repulsor Ray’ and there will also be sneak peaks and bonus DVD content.

If you are eagerly awaiting the DVD or Blue-Ray release of Batman: Gotham Knight then you may want to grab this widget and put it on your Myspace, Facebook or blog.

The widget points out that everytime someone places the widget somewhere, the Bat-Signal will become a little brighter. I suggest we get everyone we know to put this widget on their pages. The Bat-Signal will get brighter and brighter until it is brighter than the sun. I can see the headline now!

The Spirit Widget Is Down To It’s Final Hour! Will We Get A Trailer?

The widget you see below has been quietly counting down for the past two weeks, and now it is down to it’s final hour. As I type this there are 48 minutes until the countdown reaches zero, where we could end up with a first look at The Spirit via a teaser trailer.

The film stars Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson and Eva Mendes.

Minimize or Bookmark this page and keep checking back. Whatever we get should be good…

Update: The countdown reached zero and nothing happened…rendering the countdown pointless. Apparently we have to wait another 2 days for something.

Update 2: It was a countdown to New York Comic Con where footage from the film is being unveiled.
