Fox’s viral campaign for this summer’s Prometheus seems to be in full swing right now and this awesome promo is the latest to come from that. David is an 8th generation Wayland type robot, powered by Verizon apparently and you can see the clip right after the break.

Now this is what I call great viral marketing, a clip that’s made to look like any commercial you see today on TV, only this is for a robot, one that you can only find in the film Prometheus unfortunately. I mean who doesn’t want a real David around the house? I know I do, my garden needs work and he would be the perfect candidate for that unethical job. Also, after Shame, I’m sure there are loads of women out there (and even guys) that would buy a Michael Fassbender the second he becomes available, probably for stuff that’s more NC-17 if you know what I mean.

Joke aside, Prometheus is a prequel to the 1979 original Alien, directed by the same Ridley Scott and starring Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, and Patrick Wilson among others.

Prometheus opens June 1st in the UK and June 8th in North America.

20th Century Fox has released the second and probably final trailer for The Three Stooges, the Farrelly brother’s slapstick comedy, just weeks before its April 13th release date.

Did we really need The Three Stooges brought back, really? I mean don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the effort, Bobby and Peter Farrelly have been trying to get this film made for over a decade now, but looking at a this preview of the finished product, I don’t believe it was worth it. At one point Benicio Del Torro, Sean Penn and Jim Carrey were all set to star in The Three Stooges, that might have attracted more people to this movie. As it stands, The Three Stooges is looking like a sure fire box office dud.

The synopsis reads like this: “While trying to save their childhood orphanage, Moe, Larry, and Curly inadvertently stumble into a murder plot and wind up starring in a reality TV show.”

Directed by Bobby and Peter Farrelly, The Three Stooges stars Sean Hayes, Chris Diamantopoulos, Will Sasso, Jane Lynch, Jennifer Hudson and Sofia Vergara.

As mentioned in the intro, The Three Stooges opens April 13th in North America and June 15th in the UK.

DreamWorks Animation and Paramount have released a new trailer for Madagascar 3, the latest entry in the popular series about a group of escaped animals. Now I have to say, previous trailers have not impressed me but this one, it totally sold the movie.

So thanks to this trailer I learned something new today, apparently zebras can’t drive, only humans and penguins can. Looking past some of the obviously stupid jokes, there are more then a few genuinely funny moments here and unlike past trailers, we get a much better feel for where the movie is headed. Also, I’m now actually looking forward to this.

Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted brings back Alex, Marty, Melman, Gloria, King Julien XIII, Maurice, Mort and obviously Rico, Skipper, Kowalsky and Private. While still trying to get back home to their Zoo in New York, our heroes travel across Europe with what is probably the best cover for a group of animals like them, a circus. There, in order to be accepted, they must create the ultimate circus act, Madagascar style.

You can tell a mile away that Madagascar 3 is aimed at the international crowd, and who can blame DreamWorks Animation, past entries made most of their money outside North America.

Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted features the voices of Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith, Sacha Baron Cohen, Cedric The Entertainer, Frances McDormand, Bryan Cranston, Martin Short, Jessica Chastain and Paz Vega among others.

The film will make its debut at the Cannes Film Festival in May, while for North America and most of the world, the release date is June 8th.

Focus Features and Laika released yesterday the second trailer for stop-motion animation ParaNorman. Frankly, it looks awesome giving us a lot more insight into the story courtesy of new scenes, voice-overs, and dialog, the last two being absent from the first trailer.

You know what they say, better short and sweet than long and boring. Running at just 1 minute and 9 seconds, that’s exactly what this trailer is.

As you can see, Norman (Kodi Smit-McPhee) can see the dead and speak to them. But unlike Shyamalan’s The Sixth Sense this is a comedy and animated to boot, so expect more than a few funny scenes. Besides that, he will have to face ghosts, zombies and grown-ups to save his town from a centuries-old curse.

Did I mention it comes from Laika? Only the guys that brought us the amazing Coraline back in 2009. Also it’s stop-motion in 3D, so what more could you want?

Directed by Chris Butler and Sam Fell, ParaNorman features the voices of Anna Kendrick, Leslie Mann, Christopher Mintz-Plass, John Goodman, Casey Affleck and Kodi Smit-McPhee as the titular character.

So again, ghosts, zombies, stop-motion, Coraline, John Goodman, Leslie Mann and McLovin. If you’re not sold yet then I don’t know what else to say. Oh yeah, ParaNorman comes out August 17th (same day as The Expendables 2) so mark your calendar, NOW!

Lionsgate released the first trailer for the ensemble pregnancy comedy What to Expect When You’re Expecting, inspired by the best-selling self-help book. Featuring a big cast of popular actresses and actors, while not on the level of Valentine’s Day, it still gives off that vibe with the main difference coming from having pregnant women, lots and lots of pregnant women.

You can guess from the trailer that this film is about a few couples and the way they prepare for parenthood. But really, the story is not the main focus here, the cast is and chances are there’s at least one actor in here that you might like (more or less). So without further ado, What to Expect When You’re Expecting stars the following: Anna Kendrick, Elizabeth Banks, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Brooklyn Decker, Chace Crawford,  Dennis Quaid, Rodrigo Santoro, Chris Rock and a bunch of others, the complete list is here.

Directed by Kirk Jones (Nanny McPhee, Everybody’s Fine), What to Expect When You’re Expecting opens on May 11th 2012 in the US, clearly aiming to become one of the heavy-hitters of that extremely competitive month.

After a featurette last week, Warner Bros. released the first proper trailer for The Lucky One, a romantic drama based on the Nicholas Sparks novel of the same name.

The Lucky One is the story of a marine that travels to North Carolina after serving in Iraq to search for the unknown woman that he thinks was his good luck charm during the war. Basically this marine, played by Zack Efron, finds a picture of this unknown woman, right there on the battlefield and just as he leaves his post to pick it up, a bomb drops behind him. So it’s easy to believe why he now considers her to be his lucky charm. As with most trailers these days you get most of the story in just two and a half minutes leaving very few surprises in store for the actual viewing of the movie.

Directed by Scott Hicks (Shine, No Reservations), The Lucky One stars Zac Efron, Taylor Schilling, Jay R. Ferguson and Blythe Danner. For those not familiar with Nicholas Sparks, some of his other novels adapted into successful movies were: Message in a Bottle, A Walk to Remember, The Notebook, Nights in Rodanthe, Dear John and The Last Song. Just based on that, expectations for The Lucky One are above average, at least when it comes to box office. Personally I think this movie would work better around Valentine’s Day but I don’t work for Warner Bros. so I have no say when it comes to the release date of this film.

The Lucky One opens April 20th in the US and May 4th in the UK.

20th Century Fox released yesterday the first trailer for The Three Stooges. Based on the original early to mid-20th century characters, this film has been a long time coming for the Farrelly brothers with over a decade of delays.

In this first look we see a lot of physical comedy, slapstick pushed to the extreme, Curly looking at an iPhone and a nasty lobster. Personally I think they pulled off the look and interactions (read Moe, Curly and Larry hitting each other) of the main characters but in the end it all just looks really stupid. Then again, that’s probably what they’re going for anyway.

The plot of the movie reads like this: “While trying to save their childhood orphanage, Moe, Larry, and Curly inadvertently stumble into a murder plot and wind up starring in a reality TV show.”

Bobby and Peter Farrelly (Dumb and Dumber, There’s Something About Marry) have been trying to get this film going for more than a decade so to finally see it finished and ready to come out must be extremely satisfying for the duo. Initially the Farrelly brothers wanted Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro and Jim Carrey for the parts but over the course of time they each had to drop out for various reasons (Jim Carrey gained 40 pounds to play Curly but ultimately left the project because he didn’t want to endanger his health by gaining even more weight required for the role).

In the film Sean Hayes plays Larry, Will Sasso plays Curly and Chris Diamantopoulos is Moe. Other parts are played by Sofia Vergara, Jane Lynch, Larry David and Jennifer Hudson. The Three Stooges opens April 13th 2012 in North America and May 4th in the UK.

Yesterday Disney released a brand new TV spot for War Horse on their YouTube channel that’s more the length of a standard trailer than a TV spot, but if that’s how they wish to brand the preview, then that’s how I will present it.

This “TV spot” gives us a few new clips from the movie along with shots of the cast explaining what War Horse is all about and trying to sell the family aspects. With War Horse opening December 25th, exactly on Christmas Day, DreamWorks are pushing the family side to maybe turn this into the “must see” movie of the holiday season.

Directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Hiddleston (Thor), Benedict Cumberbatch (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), David Thewlis (Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter movies), Emily Watson and newcomer into the world of feature films, Jeremy Irvine, War Horse is the story of a young man and his horse. When that horse is sold to the cavalry and sent to the trenches of World War 1, the young man, despite not being old enough to enlist, heads to France in order to save his beloved friend.

Again, War Horse opens wide on Christmas, leaving little over 3 weeks for DreamWorks to start rolling the marketing campaign in full force, that is if they want to make this the hit it probably should become. Strangely enough, another Steven Spielberg directed movie opens just 4 days before War Horse in North America. I’m obviously talking about The Adventures of Tintin, already an international hit at the box office. This should make for a very interesting Christmas since you rarely see two movies from the acclaimed director opening so close to each other.

Over the years Ralph Fiennes has worked with directors such as Steven Spielberg, Stephen Daldry and Kathryn Bigelow, so there’s no wonder the actor got an urge to direct himself.

Last March Fiennes begin shooting his directorial debut Coriolanus, a contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare’s play which was written between 1605 and 1608, and is based on the life of the legendary Roman leader, Gaius Marcius Coriolanus.

For a first time director Fiennes has managed to pull together an impressive cast, which includes Gerard Butler, Vanessa Redgrave, Jessica Chastain, Brian Cox and James Nesbitt. Now the first UK trailer has appeared online, and it looks intense.

Coriolanus (Ralph Fiennes), a hero of Rome, is a great soldier but despises the people. His extreme views ignite a mass riot and he is banished from Rome. Coriolanus allies with a sworn enemy (Gerard Butler) to take his revenge on the city. As director and star, Ralph Fiennes brings William Shakespeare’s visceral history play to the big screen for the first time. Coriolanus is a drama for the ages, a commentary on the precarious draw of war and an auspicious directorial debut from one of the world’s great classical actors.

Coriolanus opens in the US on December 2nd and in the UK on January 20, 2012. It has an Oscar-friendly release, so we could see an awards push from The Weinstein Company.

Earlier this year we got a teaser trailer for Happy Feet 2 which featured the penguins shuffling to the music of Justin Timberlake. Now Warner Bros. have released a second trailer which is more of the same, just with some extra footage.

The sequel to the Academy Award(R) winning animated smash hit, “Happy Feet Two” returns audiences to the magnificent landscape of Antarctica in superb 3D. Mumble, The Master of Tap, has a problem because his tiny son Erik is choreo-phobic. Reluctant to dance, Erik runs away and encounters The Mighty Sven – a penguin who can fly!! Mumble has no hope of competing with this charismatic new role model. But things get worse when the world is shaken by powerful forces. Erik learns of his father’s ‘guts and grit’ as Mumble brings together the penguin nations and all manner of fabulous creatures – from tiny Krill to giant Elephant Seals – to put things right.

Among the voice cast this time round are Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Hank Azaria, Alecia Moore (Pink), Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Sofia Vergara. Happy Feet 2 will be released November 18, 2011 in the US and December 2, 2011 in the UK.
