Some new images from The Day the Earth Stood Still have appeared online over at ComingSoon.net. The film stars Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly and John Cleese and is a remake of the 1951 classic sci-fi film about an alien visitor and his giant robot counterpart who visit Earth.

The trailer for The Day the Earth Stood Still is now online. It is a remake of the 1950’s movie of the same title and stars Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly.
Looks quite interesting. Keanu Reeves is born for the part, they needed an actor who shows no emotion and he fits that bill perfectly. They should rename the movie to The Day Keanu Reeves Face Stayed Still. Much better title.

Variety are reporting that Jennifer Connelly has signed on to star in the 1951 remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still. Connelly will be joining Keanu Reeves in the story of aliens coming to earth and delivering a message. Live in peace or be destroyed.
Sounds fun. I have not seen the 1951 film, like most of the population under the age of 25, so this news doesn’t fill me with any emotion whatsoever. I just know Connelly is a good actress and Reeves will probably do the film justice…whatever
