Dark Knight Viral Marketing Strikes Again!

I Believe In Harvey Dent TooThe people behind The Dark Knight have done an amazing job piquing The Internet’s - i.e. everyone on the internet’s - interest in the movie.  From widgets and viral videos made specially for online viewers, to making-of featurettes and websites built specifically for characters in the film.  I’m not sure if all of this is necessary, considering the massive success of the first film and the added value of the movie being Heath Ledger’s last completed movie (sadly), but it can only help.

Latest in the line of specialty websites is a site for the Gotham City Pizzeria.  It looks like a simple pizza place, with a little information about the company and a menu of their food.  However, take a closer look!

Put your mouse over the “HA” in “GOTHAM” and see what happens.  Click on it for a surprise: a clip with Harvey Two-Face!

I’d guess this is going to be somewhere towards the end of the movie, which would be a nice set-up for movie three!

Alternate Dark Knight Trailer!

An alternate trailer for The Dark Knight has started airing on Comcast On Demand, but thanks to the wonderful site known as ‘YouTube’ you can watch it right here!

More Dark Knight Banners!

Omelete have posted some great new banners for The Dark Knight. The film won the Golden Trailer Award yesterday and if there was a Golden Poster Award it would probably win that too. All of these promotional posters and banners we have got have been amazing.

Batman’s Got Milk!

Batman Has A Huge Nose!

Empire have released images of two magazine covers for their July issue, featuring The Joker and Batman. When people get to the store then can chose which cover they want, how exciting! From the image of Batman it appears Christian Bale was busy, so they had to get Adrian Brody to pose in the Bat suit instead, hence the weird nose.

And The 2008 Golden Trailer Award Goes Too…

The Dark Knight!

44% of voters decided on the USA Today website that the second trailer for The Dark Knight was ‘the best’ this year. It beat out other trailers in its Best Action category earlier in the year, consisting of Iron Man, Live Free or Die Hard and Hellboy 2. It then went on to beat Enchanted (Best Animation/Family), Tropic Thunder (Best Comedy), Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden? (Best Documentary), No Country for Old Men (Best Drama), and I am Legend (Best Horror).

I think it is well deserved, as the trailer certainly got me pumped. Last years winner was 300, which again deserved to win. I am a trailer nut so these awards are more important to me than the Oscars, even though the winners are decided by USA Today visitors and not experiences members of the movie industry.

You can remind yourself why the trailer won by watching it below!

The Dark Knight Website Updated

The official website for The Dark Knight has been updated with lots of cool things. It is similar to the previous version but now includes a menu featuring the synopsis, video, a photo gallery, and downloads such as screensavers, icons, wallpapers and posters.

It is well worth a look, mainly for the cool intro and other flashy goodness. To go to the site click the image above!

We have less than two months to wait until The Dark Knight hits the big screen!

Here’s My Card…And Here’s My New Kick Ass Poster!

Batman on Film got an exclusive look at a brand new poster of The Joker. The other Dark Knight posters we have got have been nothing short of amazing, and the trend continues with this one. Heath Ledger looks deranged, psychotic and IS The Joker! Forget Jack Nicholson!

Enjoy, and click to enlarge!

Third TV Spot For The Dark Knight

A third TV spot for the highly anticipated, wanted and needed The Dark Knight is now online, and it is better than the previous two we have seen. Mainly because Morgan Freeman says, ‘Three buttons is a little 90’s Mr Wayne’, which is no doubt having a dig at the previous Batman movies we got nearly two decades ago.

Unfortunately, the people who uploaded it onto YouTube are anti-embedders, so you will have to leave the site to see it. Make sure you come back!

2 New Dark Knight TV Spots!

It seems marketing for The Dark Knight is now going public. We’ve had the viral campaigns online but now the public have a chance to get all excited. Warner Bros know that Heath Ledger will be a huge draw to average movie goers, and those females who only go to watch romantic comedies, hence a lot of shots of The Joker. But then again The Joker is a large part of the movie, so I guess it works out well.

You can watch the intense and amazing TV spots below!

I demand that the man who came up with the line ‘Out of the darkness, comes the Knight’ have a pay rise!
