A sneak peek at the mutant characters in X-Men Origins: Wolverine

USA Today got a cool video featuring nearly all of the mutant characters in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I was surprised to see that Emma Frost (Tahyna Tozzi) got a good speaking part in this, as we’ve only really seen her deflecting bullets with that diamond skin of hers in trailers. We also get to see more of Agent Zero (Daniel Henney), Stryker (Danny Huston) and The Blob (Kevin Durand).

As the role of Emma Frost in X-Men Origins: Wolverine will only be a small one, there was no big announcement regarding who would be playing her. In the past X-Men 1 and 2 director Bryan Singer said that he would have wanted Sigourney Weaver to play the role in X-Men 3 if he stayed on as director.

However, that didn’t happen and it appears Gavin Hood and friends decided to give the character a bit of on screen love with a small role in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The actress playing her is Tahyna Tozzi, a 23 year old Australian actress who has appeared in a film with Hugh Jackman’s wife, Deborah-Lee Furness, which is probably one of the reason she got the part. However, she certainly looks like the Emma Frost from the comics, as you can see from the images below.

We will also be getting a cameo from a young Cyclops, played by Tim Pocock and there is still a good chance that the young Storm cameo could make it into the final cut. There could also be other cameos we haven’t heard of yet.

After seeing a couple of crappy bootleg versions, the full HD trailer for X-Men Origins: Wolverine is now online! It doesn’t differ too much from the Comic Con trailer we got earlier this year, however the effects are improved and we have a few more scenes and treats. Out of the 2009 summer blockbusters, this is the one I am looking forward to the most. Watch the trailer below!
