McLovin shirts were spawned, catch phrases were repeated ad nauseum, and suddenly all references to the movie started to induce eye-rolling for me instead of laughs. That’s what happens sometimes when a movie gets too popular too quickly, launching into the public zeitgeist so fast that your mom is quoting it.

But now that we’re a few years away from the hype, a video of an early table read has surfaced and reminded me of just how funny and iconic that movie is. Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s delivery is still the best part for me. (For those that don’t know: a table read is where the actors sit down and read the script aloud together; it happens before almost every movie but rarely makes its way onto the internet.) Check it out after the jump, but beware the NSFW language (and stay away from the links posted in the video).

Read similar posts to Watch: table read of the sex scene from Superbad on Filmonic

Superbad/Pineapple Express Crossover?

Movie News

James Franco

Pineapple Express

Seth Rogen

Superbad

Seth Rogen’s Pineapple Express is released today and while on the promotional round James Franco spoke to MTV about the possibility of a Superbad/Pineapple crossover. “Even before ‘Superbad’ came out, I think the studio was trying to get [Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg] to write a sequel, but they really didn’t want to write a [...]
Read similar posts to Superbad/Pineapple Express Crossover? on Filmonic

Seth Rogen’s Pineapple Express is released today and while on the promotional round James Franco spoke to MTV about the possibility of a Superbad/Pineapple crossover.

“Even before ‘Superbad’ came out, I think the studio was trying to get [Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg] to write a sequel, but they really didn’t want to write a sequel. I guess the kids would go to college or something like that [that was the studio's idea],” Franco said. “And so, an answer to that was to do a ‘Superbad’/’Pineapple Express’ crossover, an unprecedented crossover movie with two directors, Greg Motolla and David Gordon Green, each directing half of the movie and somehow these characters get together, which doesn’t make sense at all, but could work.”

Rogen himself has stated that he’d be interested in a “Pineapple” sequel. But how would he combine the two universes? Just ask Franco.

“I could sell them [the characters from 'Superbad'] something, but I think we’d want some action, so you know, somehow the kids get in trouble somehow and we have to get them out of it,” Franco mused. “And Seth plays characters in both movies, so somehow we’d have to kill one of them off.”

I would like a Superbad sequel but I haven’t seen Pineapple Express so I cant comment on whether it would be a good idea or not. What do you think?

Read similar posts to Superbad/Pineapple Express Crossover? on Filmonic

Coolness: Superbad Gets Epic

Movie News

Coolness

Movie Trailers

Superbad

I love it when people re-cut trailers.
