Vassup! There is exactly 1 month left before we get to see Sasha Baron Cohen parading around America as gay Austrian Bruno. I’m sure most are aware of the stunt Cohen and Eminem pulled recently at the MTV Movie Awards, and it would be foolish to think that we won’t be getting more stunts like that from Cohen between now and July 10th. However, in the meantime watch these new TV spots that have just appeared online.

Sasha Baron Cohen has been putting his life on the line performing crazy stunts for the past year, so flying down and planting his ass cheeks in the face of Eminem probably wouldn’t have phased him one bit.

Bruno will be released next month, and I am sure everyone it will know about it. Sasha Baron Cohen is the master of publicity.

I don’t know if it’s Sasha Baron Cohen himself updating the account, but whoever it is they seems to nail the character perfectly.

Universal have released some new promo images from Sasha Baron Cohen’s Bruno, and as expected they are not tame at all. One of Bruno on all fours can be seen above. There’s also Bruno on a horse, Bruno in tight hot pants against a wall, and Bruno with baby. Click here to see them all!

Bruno will be released on July 10th.

Universal have finally released a trailer for Sasha Baron Cohen’s Bruno. The trailer is restricted so you’ll have to enter your date of birth, however it is hilarious and therefore worth it. From the looks of things they aren’t showing us most of the big things we have heard about, which is a good thing because we don’t want to be spoiled.

According to Cinematical roughly 20 minutes of footage from Sacha Baron Coen’s Bruno will be shown at the South by Southwest 2009 film festival. We have heard so little about this recently that I almost forgot about it. Last year we got reports of filming taking place, such as when Sacha Baron Coen, dressed as the flamboyant Austrian, managed to get onto the catwalk during Milan’s Fashion week (getting arrested as a result). We have also seen pictures of him harassing Arnold Schwarzenegger and he even tricked a former Israeli spy and Palestinian academic into appearing in the film which they thought was a serious documentary on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Ha!

Bruno is set to be released in July, so we should be getting a glimpse of it soon. I have a feeling it will be just as hilarious as Borat!

Writer Terry Rossio Says Pirates 4 Talk Is Untrue

Anyone hear recently that Johnny Depp was going to be paid a heck of a lot for Pirates of the Caribbean 4? There were also some rumours floating around that Sasha Baron Cohen would have a part, as would Russell Brand. Apparently Tim Burton was also being considered to direct. Well if all those didn’t ring your bullshit alarm then your bullshit alarm needs new batteries.

Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy writer Terry Rossio recently posted a message on a forum confirming that all these rumours were indeed, bullshit.

For the record, none of the recent Pirates 4 rumors have any truth, including the so-called record 50 million dollar payday for Depp.
Some pretty funny stuff, though. Sacha Cohen? Tim Burton? Studios are way too protective of their franchises for that sort of thing.

Sacha Baron Cohen To Produce Accidentes

Variety say that Fox Atomic has acquired Accidentes, a pitch that Sacha Baron Cohen will produce with an eye toward starring in it as an ambulance-chasing personal injury lawyer. The comedy will be written by Peter Baynham, who wrote Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan with Cohen and earned an Oscar nomination.

The protagonist will be a lawyer of Latin descent who transforms from contingency attorney to hero of the working class when he helps an immigrant win a judgment against his wealthy employer after a landscaping mishap. He also becomes the enemy of L.A.’s power elite.

Sacha Baron Cohen is currently finishing up work on Bruno which will be released on May 15th 2009.

Bruno Goes To The Middle East

Sasha Baron Cohen is at it again with Bruno. Cohan/Bruno tricked Yossi Alpher, a former Israeli spy and Palestinian academic Ghassam Khalib into appearing in the film which they thought was a serious documentary on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. At one point, Bruno compared the Middle East conflict to the battle between Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie over Brad Pitt, saying: ‘Your conflict is not so bad.’ He also said:

“What’s the connection between a political movement and food. Why hummus?” Cohen asked, later adding: “Yesterday I threw away my pitta bread because it was dripping hummus. And it’s too high in carbohydrates.”

It was too late to pull out because the two had already signed release forms and received payment for the interview. The way things are going Bruno could end up being just a great as Borat…maybe even better! So far there has been talk of Ben Affleck being interviewed by Cohen in character, along with Arnold Schwarzenegger. There was also an incident in the lobby of Wichita Kansas Airport, where Bruno and his friend were caught stripping down to tight shorts.
