Columbia has released a second trailer for Battle: Los Angeles which is just as good, if not better, than the first. The movie stars Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Ramon Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, Ne-Yo and Michael Peña, and in this trailer we get a better look at the alien invaders, but not enough to work out what they actually are.

For years, there have been documented cases of UFO sightings around the world – Buenos Aires, Seoul, France, Germany, China. But in 2011, what were once just sightings will become a terrifying reality when Earth is attacked by unknown forces. As people everywhere watch the world’s great cities fall, Los Angeles becomes the last stand for mankind in a battle no one expected. It’s up to a Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and his new platoon to draw a line in the sand as they take on an enemy unlike any they’ve ever encountered before.

Warner Bros. offered director Jonathan Liebesman the Clash of the Titans sequel after seeing parts of this movie, so well have to see what impressed them for ourselves when Battle: Los Angeles is released in March. We’ve seen plenty of alien invasion movies in the past, but this one looks to bring yet another take on the genre.

Columbia Pictures has debuted the teaser trailer for director Jonathan Liebesman’s Battle: Los Angeles, which stars Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Ramon Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, Ne-Yo and Michael Peña.

For a teaser it contains quite a lot of footage, but the footage itself is impressive. They don’t give us a clear look at the aliens (yes, it’s another alien invasion movie), although we do see lots of carnage, fighting and money shots in general.

Sequels always introduce new characters to keep things fresh, and with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen the most prominent new addition was Ramon Rodriguez who played Sam’s room-mate Leo Spitz (Jonah Hill turned the role down). In my opinion the character was a little pointless and his only purpose was to join the gang up with Agent Simmons (John Turturro) and provide a little comic relief (along with the parents, the leg humping robot, the old robot, the twin robots and Agent ‘bare ass’ Simmons himself). At the end of the film he was alive and well so we can assume he will turn up in Transformers 3. Michael Bay recently spoke to the L.A Times and suggested that Rodriguez would have a bigger role next time round.

Director Michael Bay has a third “Transformers” film in mind, and if it plays out as he expects, the next installment would have a more substantial role for Rodriguez. The filmmaker, speaking at his office a few weeks before “Revenge of the Fallen” was released, seemed to have some pride of discovery when talking about Rodriguez.

“I’ve worked with big stars, people like Will Smith, Sean Connery and Bruce Willis, but casting is a weird thing, it takes you places you don’t expect,” Bay said. “We went looking for a sidekick in this movie, Shia’s sidekick, and we find this new kid who really pops on screen. I think he’s going to have a real bright career. It’s great to work with big stars, but it’s always fun to discover people.”

He is part of the gang now so he will probably be involved with whatever lies ahead. Hopefully Bay and the writers give him a reason to be there. They have enough comic relief as it is.

We have three new images from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, however these images are special as they come from Megan Fox herself! Fox revealed these images exclusively on her Twitter page (officialmgnfox) and kindly gave Filmonic permission to post them. The images include new shots of Megan Fox, John Turturro, Shia LaBeouf and Ramon Rodriguez, who plays Sam’s roommate Leo.

In other Transformers news, Megan Fox and director Michael Bay will be presenting a new clip from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards. Shia LaBeouf will also be there to present a popcorn statue. (From ComingSoon.net)
