Filming is currently under-way on Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, which has Michael J. Bassett (Solomon Kane) in the directors chair.

Up until now it was thought no cast from the 2006 film would be returning, however in a press release the producers announced that Sean Bean, Radha Mitchell and Deborah Kara Unger would all be back. No details as to how large of a role they will play, but we have our first look at Radha Mitchell in the film above.

In the statement director Michael Bassett said:

“It wouldn’t be the same without some of the original ‘Silent Hill’ cast. Sean, Radha and Deborah’s return will certainly thrill fans of the franchise and compliment Revelations stars Adelaide and Kit.”

Cinematographer Maxime Alexandre also spoke about shooting the movie in 3D:

“With the most advanced technology available, in particular the lighter, smaller and more flexible 3D Red Epic, we are able to take audiences deeper in the world of ‘Silent Hill’ than they ever dreamed possible. Devotees will finally be able to enter this realm along side of Heather, Vincent, Harry and Rose and experience the psychological horror and the fear of the unknown with them.”

Despite its flaws I enjoyed Silent Hill, but was expecting much from the sequel. Horror sequels are rarely any good and at the beginning it looked like it would be heading straight to DVD. However Lionsgate picked up international rights, and Sony will be releasing the film in the US sometime in 2012.

The sequel follows Heather Mason (Adelaide Clemens), along with her father, who have been on the run – always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by horrific nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.

What would you do if everyone in your small, isolated, horror movie setting town started to go crazy? Personally I’d move, but some people aren’t as lucky and the only option is to get the shotguns out. The Crazies follows the inhabitants of a small Iowa town who are suddenly plagued by insanity and then death after a mysterious toxin contaminates their water supply.

The film stars Radha Mitchell, Danielle Panabaker, Timothy Olyphant, Joe Anderson, and is directed by Breck Eisner. His last film Sahara wasn’t all that, but this looks quite good.

ComingSoon.net received an exclusive first look at the poster for Surrogates, which stars Bruce Willis and Radha Mitchell as FBI agents who investigate the mysterious murder of a college student linked to the man who helped create a high-tech surrogate phenomenon that allows people to purchase unflawed robotic versions of themselves, enabling them to experience life vicariously from the comfort and safety of their own homes.

Today we have a trailer for Surrogates, which is based on a graphic novel of the same name and stars Bruce Willis, Radha Mitchell and former Bond girl Rosamund Pike. From the trailer it looks like the offspring of an orgy between The Matrix, I, Robot, The Island and Minority Report. The film take place in the future where people live their lives through remote-controlled robots (Surrogates) and the story follows Agent Greer, played by Willis, who must leave his home to investigate the murders of other Surrogates and their respective users.

Surrogates will be released in September.
